The first year of training

Leonie Springer

The first few months of my training as an industrial clerk were exciting and informative. At the beginning, a lot of things were new to me, such as the processes in the company, the programs on the PC, and all the commercial terms.

I find it interesting that I get to see the different departments and that there are so many different areas and tasks. I am currently still in sales and distribution until the end of December.

I chose this training program because it opens up many opportunities for the future and allows you to work in a wide variety of areas later on. I therefore see it as a valuable foundation for my career path.

Jeremia Klein

I recently started my training as an industrial clerk at COHLINE in the VTA (Automotive Sales) department.

I had known for a long time that I wanted to train as an industrial clerk. My uncle, who used to work at COHLINE, told me a lot of good things about the company, so I decided to apply for an apprenticeship here.

I had a very good feeling even during the interview. This was confirmed during my first week, as I received a very warm welcome and I definitely like it here so far. I can already put the knowledge I acquired through my vocational diploma with a focus on economics into practice here, even though I still have a lot to learn about how things work in the company.

The second year of training

Amy Wagner

Hi, I'm Amy and I'm currently in my second year of training as an industrial clerk. I really enjoy the training and would choose Cohline again. Many of my colleagues are always willing to listen to me and help me out.

Thanks to the department changes, I have already gotten to know many different processes, and there is also a lot of input at vocational school, so there is hardly any underchallenge. From procurement strategies to project planning to finance, there is a lot to learn.

So far, I have been in three different departments, including logistics scheduling, sales and purchasing, and I have enjoyed sales the most so far. My tasks there included writing quotations and handling customer orders. As a trainee, I am gaining valuable insights that will help me decide which activities I enjoy and which I might not enjoy so much. This will enable me to move in the right direction at the end of my training.

Julius Herr

My name is Julius Herr and I have just started my second year of training.

I got my first taste of this profession two years ago during my internship at Cohline. I immediately enjoyed the varied tasks and activities, so after graduating from high school, I decided to train as a tool mechanic.

I have already learned a lot since starting my apprenticeship. Initially, the focus was on filing in order to develop a feel for the material. Then we moved on to machine processes such as drilling, turning, milling, etc.

Choosing Cohline as my training company was exactly the right decision for me. The working atmosphere is excellent: if you have any questions or problems, there is always someone on hand to help. I would particularly like to highlight the support provided by our trainer, Rafael Walisko, who uses his patience and technical skills to convey complex content in a way that is easy to understand and practical.

Justin Weitzel

My name is Justin Weitzel and I am 17 years old. I started my apprenticeship as a tool mechanic at Cohline in 2024 and am now in my second year of training.

After graduating from secondary school, I wanted to start an apprenticeship right away to gain some initial insights into working life and get to know what everyday work is like.

I deliberately chose Cohline because I have a keen interest in the automotive industry. Another factor in my decision was the positive reception I received from our trainer, which is also reflected in the working atmosphere among the employees. What I find great is how helpful my colleagues are with tasks, problems, and questions, as they provide me with immediate assistance.

The third year of training

As a trainee in the 3rd year of apprenticeship, you have already passed through several departments and thus have a great insight into the different areas of the company.  The apprenticeship provides you with a lot of experience, which is useful in your day-to-day work. In each department, you can meet nice colleagues. You also get involved in the varied day-to-day business, as you are assigned your own areas in which you work independently. Furthermore, you can turn to your colleagues at any time if you need support.

Maike Deusing

After graduating from high school, I was initially unsure about what I wanted to do next. My sister, who is also training to be an industrial clerk, brought this profession to my attention. COHLINE appealed to me right from the start, and I knew that I would like to complete my training here. I am now in my third year of training and am currently in the middle of preparing for my exams, as I am shortening my training by six months.

During my training, I have gained a lot of experience in our commercial departments. I am currently working in purchasing, the department where I will remain after my training. As this department has been the most enjoyable for me so far, I am very happy to be working here. I was involved in the day-to-day work of purchasing almost from the start, which was challenging but also a lot of fun.

Preparing for my exams is a bit stressful at the moment, but I am looking forward to the new challenges and am excited to see how things will develop.

Laurin König

My name is Laurin König, I am in my third year of training and am completing an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at COHLINE.

During my training, I have already gained a wide range of insights into different areas of the company. These include order processing and communication with customers and service providers. What I find particularly valuable is that I can put my theoretical knowledge into practice. Preparing for the final exam is a very exciting part of the training, and I try to learn a little bit every day and organize the material well so that I can go into the final exam relaxed and well prepared.

I particularly enjoyed the production control department during my training. I find the activities of planning, controlling, and monitoring the production processes until the end product arrives at the customer's premises exciting and interesting.

Vladislav Bogdanov

Hey, my name is Vladislav Bogdanov. I am in my third year of training and am training to become a tool mechanic.

How did I end up here? Initially, I was looking for an apprenticeship in a different profession, which was not available here. Instead, I was offered the profession of “tool mechanic” and I accepted the offer, which I do not regret at all.

At Cohline, I have already learned many job-related skills, such as how to use manual tools (files, saws, etc.) and how to use machine processes (milling, turning, etc.).

We also have a highly qualified and conscientious instructor, Mr. Rafael Walisko, who is always ready to help and give advice. This gave me a good opportunity to prepare for the intermediate exams. And I am sure it will continue to be that way!

The fourth year of training

Jessyca Pausch

My name is Jessyca Pausch, I am 19 years old and currently in my fourth year of training as a tool mechanic at COHLINE. The last three years have given me a lot of insight into working life and sparked new interests, such as CNC milling and design engineering. That's why the decision to do an apprenticeship after secondary school was exactly the right one for me.

I feel very comfortable at COHLINE and appreciate the support from our trainer. I am also looking forward to staying here after completing my apprenticeship in January and starting my dual studies in mechanical engineering so that I can grow with new challenges within the company.

Alessio Löwen

Hey, I am Alessio Löwen and in my fourth year of training as a tool mechanic. After three years in this apprenticeship at COHLINE, I am convinced that it was definitely the right decision after completing my secondary school diploma.

During this time, I have learned a lot about the profession (including CNC technology, and how to produce entire assemblies from individual part drawings). A great advantage for the future is also seeing how working life functions and getting to know new people. Jessy and I will take our written final exam in just under a month, and by January 2026 we will have completed our training.

Without the constant support of our trainer, this would be much harder, for which I am very grateful. After my apprenticeship, I will be taken on here in the toolmaking department and I am looking forward to new exciting tasks.
